My life has been thoroughly blessed by adoption.  I was adopted at 14 months of age and when I married my darling husband Phil, we went on to adopt our 3 children.  I could not have carried any of my 3 children in the time we adopted them, all as newborns.  Our first adoption took 8 months, the second was 3 1/2 months and the 3rd took less than a month from the time I submitted our portfolio!  Our agency asked after our 2nd adoption if I could help some of their clients who were struggling with their portfolios.  Many of the portfolios were not up to par and they were not getting the chance they deserved with Birthmothers as a result of that.  I agreed and have been helping couples all over the country, ever since!  It is my joy to be a part of others' adoption journeys!  I have also had the opportunity to talk to many different Adoption Specialists, as well as Birthmothers and can help you to word your pages and lay them out in a way that is attractive to Birthmothers and will meet any requirements your adoption professionals require.

Aside from my personal connections to adoption, prior to having children I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications & Media Arts from Southern Illinois University (and a minor in Art and Design) and went on to write, report and anchor news on both radio and television.  I later worked in Marketing in the Healthcare Industry and just before we adopted our first child, I received my licensure in Education.  All of these fields helped to prepare me for the writing and promotion of you and your family to Birthmothers.  Beyond all my "formal training", it has been the practical training of having spoken to numerous Adoption Professionals and Birthmothers that has been invaluable.  I have been through this process myself, 3 times and have gone through this journey with many clients (several of whom who have been chosen based on their portfolio only 2-6 weeks after its' creation).  I know, firsthand, the great hope, anticipation, urgency and anxiety you are feeling as you begin this journey of adoption. I hope I can put my background and experience to work for you!
