I am a melting pot of adoption. I was a foster child in Germany when I was adopted at 14 months old. Because my parents did not immediately return to the United States after my adoption, I had the opportunity while we were in Germany to attend things like Fasching ( the Mardi Gras of Southern Germany & Austria), but I have no memory of them. But I still know of these things and have vivid pictures in my mind because my parents brought the events I did attend, but did not remember and even traditions I was not old enough to be a part of, to life with pictures, books and stories.
